I probably will have to strip the model back to plastic and start again for the one I have done, but need to find a way to use the rest of the decals otherwise. But these Zotz decals were gits, even on relatively simple surfaces. Generally I can get decals to lay down fine without silvering using a combination of these and patience, and can get good results - I managed to do the Syhart Czech MiG21 grey splinter camouflage decals onto an Eduard MiG21 in such a way that they look painted on, so I know I can do it. I use MicroSol and MicrSet, Mr Softer and Mr Setter, plus clear. But, I have to concede that they are beautifully printed, and if I can get them to behave will look good on the model. I tried the markings on the P-47 cowl, plus the main insignia, and looking at it now, in order to get them to lay correctly on the surface it looks like I've used half a bottle of Johnson's Clear. They are thick, tough, inflexible and obstinate, and silver horribly. Put simply, I think Zotz are making their decals with photo etch. As SWMBO has pointed out to me that I should finish off what I have started before cracking open a new box, this was the next one in line, and it's flooding back to me why I ended up chucking it to the back of the shelf. This must have been about three or four years ago, and when they arrived, I tried out one of the P-47 sets on an Academy P-47 kit I was building. All, I some time back purchased some funky Zotz decal sets for some 'pin up' P51's and P47's.
